Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
Mainstay Studio is a one-person studio, and this policy is short because our data practices are simple: we collect what we need to do the work, and nothing else. We do not sell your information to anyone, ever.
Information we collect
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name, and whatever you choose to tell us about your business. We keep that correspondence so we can pick up where we left off.
When you become a client
To deliver a project we collect business information you provide — business name, address, phone number, service details, photos, license and warranty information, and access credentials for services such as your domain registrar or Google Business Profile.
When you pay us
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe provides us with the transaction amount, date, status, and the billing name and email associated with the payment. Stripe’s handling of your data is governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
When you visit this website
This site does not use advertising trackers, and we do not set analytics or marketing cookies on it. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which may include IP addresses, browser type, and pages requested, for security and reliability purposes.
How we use information
- To respond to inquiries and prepare proposals
- To design, build, launch, and maintain your website
- To invoice you and process payments
- To send service notices about your project or subscription
- To meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations
We do not send marketing email to people who haven’t asked for it, and we do not add clients to mailing lists without permission.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers needed to run the business, and only what those providers need:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Hosting and domain providers — publishing and serving your website
- Email providers — sending and receiving business correspondence
We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
How long we keep it
Project files and correspondence are retained for the duration of our working relationship and for up to 3 years afterward, in case you come back or a question arises. Financial records are kept as long as tax law requires. You can ask us to delete your information sooner and we will, except where we are required to keep it.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication where available. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we treat client credentials as sensitive and share them with no one.
Your choices
You can email us at any time to:
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Request deletion of your information
- Ask us to stop contacting you
We respond to these requests within 30 days.
Children
Our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the “last updated” date above. Material changes affecting current clients will be sent by email.
